Arkansas Highway 45 is a designation for two state highways in northwest Arkansas. The southern segment of 27.50 miles (44.26 km) runs north in Sebastian County from AR 96 into Fort Smith.[1] A northern segment of 36.36 miles (58.52 km) runs from Dutch Mills through Fayetteville to Clifty. The two routes were formerly connected until a portion of approximately 50 miles (80 km) was redesignated Arkansas Highway 59.

The route begins at AR 96 in Hartford, and runs north through Midland and Hackett. Upon entering Fort Smith, AR 45 meets US 71 before terminating at I-540/US 71.[2]
Arkansas Highway 45 begins at AR 59 in Dutch Mills and goes east through Clyde and Canehill to US 62 east of Lincoln. Continuing east, the route enters the Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers Metropolitan Area, beginning with Prairie Grove and Prairie Grove Battlefield Park, followed by Farmington.[3] The route enters Fayetteville where it crosses I-540\US 71\US 62\AR 16. A concurrency begins with AR 16/AR 180 east to AR 112 (Razorback Road). AR 45 also meets AR 180 and later US 71B. After turning east as Lafayette Street, AR 45 meets AR 265 east of town. The route has 42.0 miles (67.6 km) in Washington County.[3] In Hindsville, AR 45 meets US 412 Business. This is where AR 295 Spur formerly began.[4] The route continues north and terminates at AR 12 at Clifty.[4]
Arkansas Highway 45 was one of the original 1926 state highways. The route ran north from Oklahoma west of Hartford, Arkansas to Clifty. The middle segment was replaced by Arkansas Highway 59 between Van Buren and Dutch Mills, and the route remains fragmented today.
